Parmalat South Africa has apparently been very busy – with several new products launched recently, including bringing some of its international brands to the country.
Parmalat launches Galbani in SA
Parmalat has launched Galbani, the number one cheese brand in Italy, in SA.
The local launch is of Galbani Fresh Mozzarella and Mascarpone, two exciting innovations in fresh cheese with the aim of getting South Africans to ‘enjoy food the way Italians do’.
Galbani is the leading cheese brand in Europe, built on expertise of more than 130 years. The range is known for its quality and innovation and it is sold in more than 120 countries.
Galbani Mozzarella is a low fat, soft cheese available in a 125g dry packaged, and Galbani Mascarpone is a fresh, soft cheese made from cow’s milk.
Parmalat launches Lite Custard
Parmalat’s new Lite Custard is sugar free and has 50% less kilojoules than the traditional variant. This great-tasting vanilla-flavoured Lite Custard only has 205kJ per 125ml, less than any other ‘lite’ custard offering on the market.
Parmalat Lite Custard is available in a one litre re-sealable pack.
Parmalat introduces Président to SA market
Président, France’s premier cheese and butter brand is now also available in South Africa.
Parmalat initially introduced two Président butters and three cheese spreads to the Spar store channel in South Rand Gauteng and the roll-out in the rest of the country will follow this year.
Product manager, Rochelle McCarthy, says the range is imported and will now give the South African food loving consumers the opportunity to experience and taste this renowned premier French brand.
The range has a proud history dating back to October 1933. The range increased in size the next few decades and achieved an excellent reputation. It is now renowned throughout Europe for its extensive variety of products ranging from soft and hard cheeses, to butter.

Moving from premium to mass market, Parmalat has also launched Milky Max, a chocolate-flavoured dairy snack, described as a ‘new delicious, sweet and filling dairy snack in an affordable and convenient squeezy pouch. Just bite, squeeze, sip and enjoy!’
