Sasko launches a new range of speciality loaves

Understanding the ever growing needs of South Africans consumer who are concerned with their well-being and nutrition, SASKO, in the Pioneer Foods group, has launched a range of speciality dumpy loaves, SASKO Plus+.

Featuring four variants, the SASKO Plus+ range breads are low-GI, enriched with vitamins and dietary fibre, and have a softer texture. The range is also suitable for vegans and is Halaal and Kosher endorsed.

It includes the following:
Ancient Grain Smooth Brown Bread (700g) is a multigrain bread which is lower in salt and high in calcium and with its smooth texture, ensures its popularity with children. Buckwheat, barley and quinoa feature in this flavour-filled loaf.
Buckwheat is low in fat and contains essential amino acids; quinoa grain is another source of protein, fibre, riboflavin, thiamin and niacin; and the barley is high in vitamin B, iron, manganese and selenium.
Cranberry Brown Bread (700g) is a source of vitamin C and E, multigrain, lower in salt, and is a tasty alternative for those looking for a bit of sweet indulgence. Cranberries, with a high nutrient and antioxidant content, and are often referred to as a ‘super food’.
Rosehip & Honeybush Brown Bread (500g) plus added Vitamin E is portion controlled and the perfect option for those counting calories but refusing to sacrifice taste. This bread offers a delicious floral hint.

Soy & Linseed White Bread (700g) is a long-standing favourite but now is offered with a lighter bite. It’s high in omega 3 and a source of dietary fibre. This variant, says SASKO, has a “beautiful texture thanks to the soy grains and linseeds offering a crunchy bite”.

SASKO Plus+ is endorsed by The Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa, and will be available nationally from October 2014 at all supermarkets, at an RSP of around R15.
