It is with deep sadness that we report that Jennifer Ricketts, a longtime servant of food and flavour science in South Africa, has passed away.

Jenny died last week after succumbing to a short illness.

As Mane SA’s Regulatory Executive (Flavours) for Sub Saharan Africa, Jennifer devoted over 33 years of her working life to her career at Deli Spices/Mane SA.

She played an integral part in the company’s success, performing a critical mentorship and leadership role to many over the years. In this capacity, Jennifer left her enduring mark of generosity, caring and kindness, displaying a lifetime of commitment and dedication to the business.

In addition, Jennifer played a key role in the interpretation and application of food and flavouring legislation, both in South Africa and globally. Her expertise and dedication greatly advanced the reputation of the South African flavour industry.

Jennifer will be missed by all who had the privilege of having known and worked with her.

Our heartfelt condolences are extended to her husband, Shane and her family, during this difficult time.
