The Dept of Agriculture has created huge commotion and confusion over its ham-fisted new ruling on labelling for plant-based meat analogues. Here’s what SA food industry legal guru, Janusz Luterek of Hahn & Hahn Attorneys, has to say on the matter…

Though it seems a little bizarre that vegans and vegetarians alike have renounced meat but still eat meat-resembling products, Luterek, says that the department’s naming issues have gone too far, adding that it has pulled back on its directive.
