08 May 2017 Fry’s expands into a new convenience food sector
Fry’s Family Food, SA’s leading plant-based food producer based in Durban, is moving out of its traditional vegetarian convenience food arena, and will soon be launching a plant-based, gluten-free breakfast cereal.Made using a blend of ingredients such as moringa, cinnamon and chia seeds, Fry’s says it will boost metabolism, improve digestion and add antioxidants that the body will retain after consumption.
It offers 8.2g of protein per serving.
Available in two flavours, Cacao and Vanilla with Chia Seed, it will be sold in all major retailers (Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n’ Pay, Spar, Dis-Chem, etc.) at the recommended price of R54.99 for a 400g canister.
More on the product from the Fry’s website:
The original idea behind Fry’s was to find a way to make nutritious products for our family, who are all passionate about a plant-based diet. Back when we started in 1991 most people thought we were crazy.
“Plants that look and taste like meat, made in your kitchen!!” Okay, maybe we were crazy, but with passion and determination, great things can happen.
Now, a few decades on, we wanted to bring you (and ourselves) more. Hello, amazing tasting KASHA made from only the best that nature has to offer and an ingredient list you can understand! erfect for any occasion: a nutritious breakfast, food on the run, lunchboxes or an after school snack.
We hope you enjoy KASHA as much as we do!
