24 Mar 2020 Corornavirus: view Anelich Consulting’s food safety webinar
SAAFoST has permanently posted this webinar on food safety concerns during the Corona virus outbreak – held recently in conjunction with SA’s foremost food microbiology expert, Dr Lucia Anelich.
The webinar covers the coronavirus causing COVID-19, the illness, measures to protect oneself which are applicable to food workers in particular, whether the virus is a food safety risk and measures that industry should take in a food-manufacturing environment.
The information in the webinar is based on the latest science available. It is a 45-minute presentation.
SAAFoST and Anelich Consulting are committed to serving the food science and broader communities during these difficult times in our global history.
Prof Lucia Anelich has a PhD in microbiology and is currently owner of her own food safety training and consulting business, Anelich Consulting, which she started in 2011.
Prior to that, she spent five years at the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa where she established and headed up the Food Safety Initiative, a food safety body for the food industry and a first for the country. To read more click here.
Anelich Consulting has also developed a freely-available infographic poster for the food industry
An Advice for Food Workers infographic is available for download from her website, www.anelichconsulting.co.za, in both an A3 poster and 2-page information sheet format.
The infographic outlines Coronavirus symptoms, how to avoid catching or spreading the virus, how it is spread, what to do if you suspect you have the virus, and what food workers can do in their workplace.
“I continue to keep a close eye on the science that is being developed on a daily basis and shall communicate regularly,” says Anelich.
“You are most welcome to contact me for further assistance / information.”
