Swift receives SADC Quality Award in Malawi

Malawian Minister of Trade and Industry, the honourable Johan Bande, presented a SADC Quality Award (in the category Service of the Year for Large Enterprises) to Anza Bester of Swift Micro Laboratories at a ceremony at the Sunbird Capital Marquee in Lilongwe, Malawi, last week.

The SADC Quality Awards saw companies throughout the SADC region evaluated for superior service and recognises the contribution towards quality advancement in all sectors.

“Providing testing services in Africa has presented a number of challenges, so we are especially delighted to have achieved this award as it reflects our team’s hard work over the past twenty years,” says Anza Bester, Business Development Manager.

This award follows Swift’s win late last year of a South African Quality Award which automatically qualified the company to enter the SADC competition.

The South African Quality Awards are held annually and were established by the government through the Department of Trade and Industry (dti) with the aim of promoting quality and effective quality management methodologies in South African business. It is adjudicated by the dti, Business, Labour, the National Metrology Institute of South Africa, the South African Bureau of Standards and the South African National Accreditation System.

Awards are made in five categories, with Swift receiving recognition for service that best reflects commitment to local production and quality.
