Swift Micro Laboratories launches new office in George

Swift Micro Laboratories has opened a new office in George – and its full portfolio of services will now be on offer to customers as far afield as Beaufort West and Hermanus.

At a recent launch function, well attended by more than 40 representatives from local processing plants and farms, Anza Bester, Business Development Manager for Swift, highlighted how the company’s full portfolio of same-day, top-quality services will now be on offer to southern and Eastern Cape clients.

Since its inception in 1991 as the first commercial food-testing laboratory in South Africa, Swift Micro Laboratories’ brand name has become synonymous with quality and service. Today, celebrating 20 years of excellence, the company provides a comprehensive product-safety service to the food and beverage, cosmetic, hospitality and related industries throughout the SADC region.

Swift Micro Laboratories performs microbiological testing of products; designs, implements and audits quality-management systems; and trains staff and offers on-site technical service. Microbiological testing is the company’s core business, with clients able to access the largest range of ISO 17025-accredited microbiological test methods.

“Our state-of-the-art laboratories in Midrand and Cape Town employ highly-qualified microbiologists and food scientists to analyse products on the same day they are received,” Bester adds.

Technical specialists in Quality Management Systems (QMS) offer clients hands-on assistance with design, implementation and verification. Environmental health and food technology experts conduct hygiene audits based on the National Health Act and SABS 049, which are then customised to meet individual needs.

Services on offer include:

• sample collection and delivery

• training and venue

• assistance with microbiological-monitoring plans

• independent sampling

• client liaison

Industry-related courses will be held in George on 22-25 March and 15-19 August.
