PepsiCo SA’s Simba has upgraded its signature Simba Potato Flavoured Chips line with a new, thicker cut chip that “delivers on crunch and flavour in every bite”.
“For generations, Simba has been part of the moments that matter, often passed around at braais, shared on long road trips, opened after school, and enjoyed during match-day celebrations. It’s in these everyday connections that Simba has earned its place at the heart of South African culture.
“This latest evolution celebrates those shared experiences, reinforcing that great flavour is always better when enjoyed together,” says the press release.
“Each chip has been crafted with a thicker cut for even more crunch and a burst of flavour in every bite. It’s the same Simba Mzansi knows and loves, just louder and impossible not to share.”
Packaging upgrade too
The upgrade doesn’t stop there. Packaging for the whole range of Simba Potato Flavoured Chips has been redesigned with a stronger feel to help lock in freshness and protect that signature crunch. With vibrant visuals and flavour cues taking centre stage, the new packs are as flavourful on the outside as they are on the inside.
“Simba has always been about bringing the nation’s most loved flavours to life in the perfect chip with that unmistakable crunch that South Africans love,” says Diyaana Allie, marketing manager at PepsiCo.
“But more than that, it’s about connection. There’s something uniquely South African about opening a pack of Simba and immediately passing it around. It’s instinctive, and that’s what makes these moments so special, and why we believe flavour is always worth sharing.”
The newly refreshed Simba range has already rolled out to major retailers and local spaza shops nationwide.
