Simba introduces South Africa’s first potato chip strip pack

Simba-strip-packPepsiCo/Simba has launched South Africa’s first potato chip strip pack to answer the market’s need for added convenience and choice in the snack aisle.

Strip packs provide a handy lunch box size variant and while Simba maize and corn brands, such as NikNaks and Fritos, are currently available in a strip format, this is the first time consumers will have access to potato chips in a similar format.

The new strip pack (consisting of four 25 gram individual packets) is available in three of Simba’s most popular flavours; Smoked Beef, Mrs HS Balls Chutney and Creamy Cheddar.

According to Simba marketing manager Luthando Mqulwana, ”The Simba brand focuses on the idea of ‘Mapha’, enhancing family time by creating opportunities to share one of South Africa’s best loved snacks. The launch of Simba potato chip strips fills a gap in the market for a variety of affordable, suitably-sized snacks which are easy to store and pack and are ideal as lunch box fillers.

“The convenient four pack strip also provides the opportunity for a family to share in the Simba experience by each enjoying their own individually-sealed pack.”

The launch of Simba strips will be supported by a TVC, impactful in-store point of sale, back to school themed activations as well as PR and digital.

Simba Strips are currently only available from key retailers in Gauteng at a recommended selling price of R11.99
