The sustainable story behind the slabs

Most of the world’s cocoa is produced in the Ivory Coast and Ghana, key regions where Ferrero drives higher sustainability standards. it asserts. The company uses advanced tools to track cocoa origins and trains farmers in climate-smart techniques, including agroforestry, to help curb deforestation.

All the cocoa in Ferrero Rocher products is sourced through leading certification bodies and other independently managed standards such as Rainforest Alliance (UTZ), Fairtrade, and others.

But the brand’s efforts go further, with initiatives that support farmer livelihoods, protect children’s rights, and safeguarding the environment. Ferrero is a longtime member of the World Cocoa Foundation and the International Cocoa Initiative, as well as a founding member of the Cocoa & Forest Initiative (CFI).

Quality & sustainability

“Across all our Ferrero Rocher products, we are committed to quality and sustainability. Every product is crafted with utmost care and contributing to positive social change and reducing our environmental impact across our value chain. This includes supporting farming communities, sourcing high-quality ingredients from carefully selected suppliers, and redesigning our packaging for improved recyclability,” says the press release.

Ferrero Rocher Chocolate slabs are sealed in recyclable aluminium foil and encased in certified cardboard sourced from responsibly managed forests. Both materials are recyclable locally, based on countries’ recycling schemes. This packaging not only protects the quality of each slab but also reflects Ferrero’s commitment to evolving towards more sustainable solutions.

With the launch of the new Ferrero Rocher slabs, we wanted to offer a new taste experience inspired by one of our most iconic brands that are loved all over the world,” states Justin Matley, marketing manager, Ferrero Rocher.
