19 Oct 12 Ciao celebrates first birthday with a new one-litre pack
KWV has marked its Ciao brand’s first birthday, the premium ready-to-serve (RTS) cocktail, with the launch of a convenient new one-litre pack in simply fabulous packaging. [Click pic to enlarge]
This stylish new pack, designed to resemble a cocktail shaker, is available in three exciting flavours.
The new 1L packs have brought further innovation into the cocktail market, says KWV, with new infused ingredients, developed by Afriplex:
- Ciao Cosmo (Cranberry & Vodka) is infused with Rosehip and Rooibos (7% ABV);
- Ciao Vodcano (Raspberry & Vodka) is infused with Ginseng to add an extra zing (7% ABV); and
- Ciao Caipirinha (Lime & Rum) is infused with Sutherlandia to add an African pulse to this classic cocktail (9% ABV).
“Although only one year old, this exciting and funky new brand is already making significant strides in the local RTS market. The Nielsen Company reported in June this year that Ciao sales were responsible for 15.7% of the pre-mixed cocktail segment. This is exceptional penetration for a new brand,” says Anna-Marie Marks, Category Manager for KWV SA.
“Building on our success, Ciao brings further innovation into the category with our new convenient 1L pack, designed to resemble a cocktail shaker, and is easier to carry.”
New Ciao 1L packs’ shrink sleeve packaging is the work of Bravo Design, and produced by Colpak. The drinks have a recommended retail price of R39. 95.
Ciao was launched in October 2011 with three variants, Appeltini (gin and apple), Yellow Cab (brandy and orange) and Paradise Bliss (vodka and passion fruit). In May 2011 two light variants were introduced, Cosmo Light (vodka and cranberry) and Paradise Bliss Light (vodka and passion fruit), as well as the brand new Vodcano (vodka and raspberry).
