13 Jun 2011 BRC changes: get up to speed on Issue 6
The BRC revises the requirements of its standards as well as audit protocols on a regular basis. ProCert Southern Africa is hosting two seminars on the latest changes, Issue 6, in Johannesburg and Paarl in late July.
The BRC Global Standards for Food Safety dictate the requirements suppliers should meet to supply through British retailers. The existing requirements in Issue 5 have been extensively revised and Issue 6 will be published in July 2011 and will come into effect in January 2012 (Issue 5 can still be used for audits until January 2012).
In order to facilitate the smooth transition, ProCert Southern Africa, in association with David Brackston, Technical Director of the BRC, will be hosting two seminars on 26 and 28 July (Jo’burg and Paarl) to the highlight and explain the significant changes to Issue 6 of the standard.
These seminars will provide an opportunity for discussion regarding the changes to both the standard and the audit protocol. The seminars will also provide further insight into the selection and approval of certification bodies and auditors by the BRC.
