Cereal and Malt-Extract, the leading SA manufacturer and supplier of malt extract and speciality flours, is looking to recruit a food safety specialist.

Location: Industria, Johannesburg

Experience: At least five years working in a food manufacturing facility.

Essential: Own transport.

Qualifications: ND Food Technology or related food industry qualification; FSSC 22000 V6 certification; ISO 22000.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, update and maintain the FS system as a shared service.
  • Manage the customer complaints database, providing assistance to internal and external non-conformances, customer audits and third party audits.
  • Co-ordinate facility audits and manage the distribution of audit reports and follow-up on action plans from outcomes of audits with the relevant department heads.
  • Manage service providers according to the scope of work as per contract.
  • Manage change control and trial documents with relevant department heads.
  • Communicate changes that affect the business from regulatory or statutory changes.

Reporting to: Quality & Technical Manager

Start date: 01 November 2024

Salary: Industry related
