SA’s ‘Best Products of 2009’
Products awarded the title of ‘Product of the Year 2009’ have been announced, following a large consumer survey involving over 5 000 people from around the country. ‘Product of the Year’ is the world’s largest organisation dedicated to recognising and rewarding innovation.
With the survey being held on every continent and for over 25 years, ‘Product of the Year’ claims it is the voice of the consumer when it comes to best products available on supermarket shelves. Winners of the ‘Product of the Year’ awards may feature the distinctive red logo on pack – helping shoppers identify the best products to save both time and money. South African consumers, say the organisers, can now shop with the confidence of knowing that when they choose a product bearing the ‘Product of the Yea’r logo they are actually choosing a product endorsed by other consumers, like themselves, as offering the best value and innovation.
MD of ‘Product of the Year-South Africa’, Preetesh Sewraj, says, “As a consumer myself I know how difficult it is to find the best products in supermarkets that are filled with a number of new products on a daily basis. Now the endorsement by ‘Product of the Year’ means that there is no need to guess which product will deliver on the needs on the consumer – all that is required is to chose the products with the red logo which really is the endorsement of 5 000 South Africans.”
Winners include some of the biggest manufacturers in the business including Unilever, L’Oreal, Reckitt Benckiser, Colgate-Palmolive and Johnson & Johnson.
