New from ProCert Southern Africa – IFS certification by local auditor

Procert Southern Africa has announced it now proudly offers IFS certification by a local auditor – and with it huge savings for exporting manufacturers.

The IFS Food standard is a private standard that details food safety and quality requirements which have to be met by manufacturers in the food industry and in particular those supplying to German, French and Italian retailers.

The standard has been benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and carries the same recognition as other standards such as BRC and FSSC 22000.

The auditor qualification process for this standard is rigorous and up until recently, manufacturers certified to this standard had to fly in auditors from across the world to perform these audits locally. Needless to say, the audit fees as well as the associated travel and accommodation costs have been exorbitant.

ProCert Juanita LouwJuanita Louw (left), lead auditor and director of ProCert Southern Africa recently passed her IFS exam and interview and has also subsequently been witnessed to conclude the qualification process. She is now added to the elite team of qualified IFS auditors.
