Free Food Safety seminar with LRQA’s world authority

Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance has announced it is hosting a FREE Food Safety seminar in Jo’burg next month – where attendees can tap into the expertise of Cor Groenveld, LRQA global head of food safety and chairman of the board of the Foundation for Food Safety (owner of FSSC 22000).

If increased food safety issues, supplier requirements and global initiatives have left you confused – LRQA invites food industrialists to find some light and clarity with its expert authority at the Midrand Conference Centre on September 13, 2013.

“Cor will discuss the latest developments on GMP, FSSC 22000, GFSI and all the food safety services LRQA has to offer,” says Ian Osmond, LRQA SA’s business development manager. “It’s a golden and rare opportunity to learn from a world-respected name who is at the coalface of global food safety standards and initiatives.”

Cor GroenveldAbout Cor Groenveld:

Cor is the Global Head of Food Supply Chain Services of Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).

He has a degree in Food Technology and ten years experience in the food sector before joining LRQA. His background includes being a Quality Assurance Manager, working in product development and production as well as logistics in the confectionery and convenience food industry.

Before taking on his current role as Global Product Manager Food, Cor has been a lead auditor, trainer and service developer at LRQA.

Other activities which Cor is involved with include:

  • Chairman of the Board of the the Foundation for Food Safety (owner of the FSSC 22000).
  • Representative of the Independent International Organization for Certification (IIOC) in the Food Safety Working Group of the European Accreditation Committee.
  • Member of the ISO working group for Food and Food Safety standards (including ISO 22000).
  • Member of the Food Committee of the Dutch Normalization Committee (NEN).
  • Member of the Technical Committee of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) now the Consumer Goods Forum.
