FUTURELIFE launches its High Protein range of cereals, shakes and bars

FUTURELIFE has launched a High Protein range that offers ‘smart nutrition’ designed to easily fit into the busy lifestyles of active individuals.

Angela Leach, the head dietitian for FUTURELIFE, says that the new range is optimal for the preparation, endurance and recovery of muscles, making it ideal before or after exercise: “Protein plays an important role in weight management, muscle repair and assists with other bodily functions.”

FUTURELIFE High Protein Smart Food contains 45 nutrients — it is high in 13 vitamins, contains eight minerals and 19 amino acids. It is high in fibre and is formulated with SmartProtein3D, which is a scientific blend of three protein sources, namely; casein, whey and soy. Casein and whey are both milk proteins; casein has a slow digestion and absorption rate while whey, high in branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), has a fast digestion rate. Lastly, soy, which comes from the soybean, has an intermediate digestion and absorption rate.

The range also has a low glycemic index (GI) to provide sustained energy release over a longer period, keeping you fuller for longer and improving the blood glucose control that is often lower after physical activity.

The International Society of Sports Nutrition states that you should be eating, daily, 1.4-2g of protein for every kilogram that you weigh. Each 75gram serving of FUTURELIFE High Protein Smart Food contains 22.5g of protein, which is a considerable amount of the daily requirement.

“This range not only makes it easier to ensure that you have a reasonable portion of protein in your diet, but the formulation also enables easy absorption of nutrients that are required to activate the body’s repair response after exercise. This makes it vital for anyone taking part in physical activity as it contributes to easing the recovery process,” Leach explains.

The range is suitable for active individuals, professional athletes, lacto-vegetarians and weight-conscious individuals who follow an energy-controlled, balanced meal plan.

“The beauty of this product range is not only the high-nutrient benefits it offers, but also its convenience. You can keep a pack at home or the office where it can be enjoyed instantly by just mixing it with water, milk or yoghurt to make a meal or shake. Or simply carry the shake or Smart Bar in your sports bag or handbag,” Angela concludes.
