QC Manager(Job posted 26 March 2013)
An experienced QC manager is requried for a food manufacturer (incl pork products) in Durban. Must have a food-related qualification incl HACCP training.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain food safety standards
- Ensure all food safety records are completed correctly
- Ensure factory and equipment compliance to food safety standards
- Arrange monthly laboratory sampling and testing
- Lead the team in retail audits
- Liaise with pest control and cleaning contractors
- Management of HACCP, quality control and SHEQ
- Ability to train and manage QC staff in all aspects of quality control and health and safety
- Implement and update policies and documentation in a food safety environment
- Maintain SOPs for personnel training
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), in line with SANS 10330 and SANS 10049
- Customer complaints
- Maintaining allergen control procedures
- Assisting with internal and external audits
- Formation of Standard Operating Procedures, preparation for FSA audits, documentation of the quality control manual and procedures
