CADBURY’S LOCAL 'N LEKKER

Cadbury Local 'n LekkerThe legend continues:– Cadbury’'s new packs featuring eye-catching international and local designs with their matt look and feel continue to tempt confectionery lovers.

Making its début mid-2007, Cadbury Local ’'n Lekker celebrates the return of its three most popular flavours:– Marula & Ice Cream, Mint Crisp Tart and Malva Pudding,– plus one brand-new flavour, Ouma'’s Traditional Fudge. Nampak Flexible KZN gravure prints the modern metallic-look designs for the Local ’n Lekker range with Eagle inks on matt OPP/metallised OPP with cold seal ex Seal Chemistry to register.

FARMER BROWN’'S WHOLE NEW LOOK!

Farmer Brown new look packagingFarmer Brown has been busy hatching a whole new look and taste! Packaging for the range has been overhauled with new laminated labels printed by Ferroprint on its Nilpeter presses using Select inks and designs by The Hardy Boys. The labels, which feature the new label legislation R146, are over laminated for optimal quality maintenance throughout the rigours of the cold chain.

Simultaneously, a whole new ‘taste’ sensation has been born. The all-new Farmer Brown Farmstyle Herb Whole Chicken,– rubbed with delicious herbs and spices,– has been launched; and the Spatchcock range has been updated with three new flavours:– Barbecue, Peri-Peri and Lemon & Herb. Products contain no MSG, preservatives, artificial flavourants nor colourants, and boast an impressive 12-day shelf life. The black polystyrene foam trays, stretch wrap film, and multi-layer vacuum bags are supplied by Cibapac.

FRY’S VEG EXPRESS GOES GREEN

Fry's Veg ExpressIn an effort to seek vegetarian varieties, Wally and Debbie Fry, both committed vegetarians, began making protein alternatives for their own consumption. In 1992 these ideas led to the establishment of Fry Group Foods.

Fry’'s Veg Express range is designed to give a busy housewife time out of the kitchen – just pop them in the oven or pan and a tasty meal is ready in minutes. After using CPET containers supplied by AGQPE for their vegetarian frozen food for the last few years, Fry Group Foods have decided to go ‘green’. AGQPE is now supplying the same size containers but in bagasse-based compostable trays. This introduction was made without any change to systems currently in use or necessity to acquire new machines;– the same tray sealer and lidding film supplied by AGQPE facilitated the greener solution option for packaging. The distinctively recognisable Fry'’s cartons are designed by Calibre Brand Solutions and printed by Nampak Cartons & Labels.

DOUGLASDALE’'S LIMITED EDITION SOCCER BOTTLES

Douglasdale Limited Edition Soccer bottleThe World Cup is over! Some items associated with the tournament can only be described as ‘kitsch’, while others were tastefully promoted and will be remembered into the future. Douglasdale Dairy is located in the heart of Sandton on the Douglasdale farm.

To stimulate purchase of its products during the month, the dairy launched an eye-catching limited edition 1,5-litre full cream milk. Using an existing mould, Polypet Gauteng manufactured the PET bottle, while the reverse-printed, high-shrink sleeves featuring football ‘stitching’ on the shoulders, were printed by ACF Labels: DLC on a nine-colour Mark Andy UV press using inks from Flint Narrow Web, and repro and plates from ACF Repro.
