‘We took the step to invest in this new capacity as a result of customer demand for a greater range of pack sizes,’ says Craig Broadfoot, Orley strategic relationship manager. ‘We have historically only packed in bulk, from 3kg or litres upwards, but now we’ve the means to offer a range of bottle sizes, from 250ml to 2-litres for all our liquid products. We’re a customer-centric business – and we’ve listened and acted on what our customers want and this represents a new era of pack choice and flexibility for Orley.’ The products in question are the likes of liquid sauces such as milkshake syrups, ripples, toppings and emulsions – of interest for Orley’s key dairy, bakery and food service markets.
Orley’s new liquid line, supplied by another Cape Town company, Abtech, is dedicated to the hot filling of HDPE plastic bottles only, in sizes from 250ml to 2-ltires. The line is equipped with both a self-adhesive labeller and metal detector.
